BBC Symphony Orchestra
Alexander Vedernikov Conductor
Rarely is there an opportunity to look behind the scenes and under the bonnet of a symphony orchestra in action. What does it feel and sound like to sit way at the back of an orchestra? Why is the conductor there? Why do the violins sit on the left and the cellos on the right? What do the leaders of sections do?
All these questions and more will be answered as the BBC SO leads you on this unique tour looking at all the sections of the orchestra, presenting famous pieces of repertoire and allowing the audience to interact with the musicians, for some even the chance to sit in amongst them.
Music for the event will include Wagner Lohengrin Prelude Act 3, Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4, 3rd movement, Grieg Peer Gynt Suite No 1, Sibelius Valse Triste and Strauss Don Juan.
Don’t miss the once in a lifetime opportunity to get up close and personal with one of the world’s greatest orchestras.
