RCS Voices return to the Festival for a second year with a wide-ranging programme of music surveying the great British choral tradition with some of its landmark works.  Britten's Hymn and Tippett' s Spirituals are well known works but alongside these we hear Howells' beautifully crafted Requiem which uses both Latin texts and English poetry and Macmillan's more recent Miserere composed in 2009. Vaughan Williams' clever and intricate setting of Shakespeare completes the programme.

Britten Hymn to St Cecilia
Vaughan Williams Three Shakespeare Songs
James MacMillan Miserere
Howells Requiem
Tippett Five Negro Spirituals from A Child of Our Time
