Reflecting the programming of a concert in the very first St Magnus Festival in 1977 this late-night programme brings together organ and bagpipes and for 2016 we add a choir. Michael Bawtree plays new and recent works for organ, including a première from alumnus of the original Hoy Composers’ Course Jennifer Martin,
against the backdrop of one of Bach’s great showpieces for the instrument. Beamish’s work takes a Burns song The Slave’s Lament as its starting point and we will hear this on the pipes in advance of this performance. As part of the residency of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the RCS Voices intersperse the organ repertoire with choral music from the Renaissance.

Tickets £20, £15, £10 Concessions £15, £11, £8
