38 MYRTHEN Songs To The Moon

, Start Time: 14:00, End Time: 16:00 Stromness Town Hall Church Road, Stromness KW16 3BA

Taking its name from a cycle of songs by Schumann, and with the pianist Joseph Middleton at its heart, the ensemble Myrthen brings together the crème de la crème of young British-based singers and has won universal critical acclaim. The ensemble has a growing reputation for vivid and fresh performances alongside thoughtful and illuminating programming and mixes solo song with duet and ensembles within its recitals. For this concert the ensemble explores the theme of the moon in a range of songs starting with the rich vein of German lieder by Brahms and Schumann before exploring English and French song.
