Faring* is a spectacular outdoor performance celebrating St Rognvald (the Viking Earl Rognvald or Kali Kolson) and his creation, Orkney's magnificent St Magnus Cathedral.
An original, site-specific production, Faring pays tribute to the enormous distance travelled by Rognvald during his pilgrimage to the Holy Land : a journey which passed through France , Spain , Italy , Turkey , North Africa and Norway . Kirkwall City Pipe Band and Shetland's Guizer Jarl (‘Kol Kalison') and Squad add to the spectacle, and the show culminates in a thrilling aerial performance focusing on the Cathedral itself.
Faring is devised and produced in partnership with London 's Circus Space who brought you last year's Oiseau Rouge.
