Maxwell Davies Kinloch: His Fantassie
Maxwell Davies Image Reflection Shadow

A rare opportunity to hear the evocative sound of the cimbalom, the Hungarian dulcimer-like folk instrument which features in Image Reflection Shadow. This haunting work, which demands from its players an incredible level of rapport and accuracy, was inspired by a poem by Orcadian scholar Charles Senior.

‘Of all Maxwell Davies' Orkney-inspired works, this is surely the most beautiful and the most perfectly fashioned …a score whose starting point is the glimpse of a gull soaring above a scene of Orcadian stillness'. Glasgow Evening News
