Accordion Concerto: The Singing |
The RSNO makes its Festival début with this thrilling programme. The Festival Chorus joins with members of Huddersfield Choral Society to perform Vaughan Williams' romantic choral symphony. James Crabb, a performer of breathtaking virtuosity, joins the orchestra for The Singing, a concerto inspired by the Highland Clearances and imbued with Gaelic song, pibroch lament and dance.
‘Crabb's performance was a vindication of the enormous possibilities of the accordion, from tiny, piccolo-like whistles to sonorous chordal textures'. The Guardian
