Percussion Concerto (Scottish premiere) |

Symphony no. 9 'From the New World' |
The RSNO, under Austrian conductor David Danzmayr, performs an exhilarating all-American programme. The brilliantly scored percussion showpiece by one of America's most frequently performed younger composers is framed by the overture from perhaps the greatest American musical and Dvorak's popular Symphony, imbued with the spirit of American folksong.
‘Higdon aims to please in her colourful, propulsive and unabashedly accessible concerto. The performance elicited a cheering ovation for the extraordinary soloist, Colin Currie, and for the composer'. New York Times
