Poetry and Music are framed by silence. John Cage's 4'33", Bach's The Art of the Fugue and John Donne's "one equal music" come out of silence and return to it.

In this thought-provoking lecture, featuring the work of writers such as Shakespeare, Thomas Hardy, George Eliot, Norman MacCaig, Mary Oliver and Wendell Berry, Professor James Runcie (author of The Grantchester Mysteries) explores the ways in which poetry, music and silence  converge to create art, meaning and beauty.
