In the beautifully resonant acoustic of St Magnus Cathedral Stockholm Chamber Brass perform a programme spanning 900 years and culminating in Peter Maxwell Davies’ monumental Brass Quintet dating from 1981. Alongside this the quintet will perform the UK première of Swedish composer Karin Rehnqvist’s Valv. Older music completes the programme with music contemporary with the founding of St Magnus Cathedral by the Abbess-composer Hildegaard von Bingen and two motets by the infamous, renaissance prince - composer Carlo Gesualdo.
