, Start Time: 13:00, End Time: 14:00 St Magnus Cathedral Broad Street, Kirkwall KW15 1NX

For their final concert at the Festival the Maxwell Quartet turn to France and two contemporaries.  Though sounding indisputably French, both composers have a unique soundworld with Fauré firmly rooted in the highly chromatic world of late Romanticism and Debussy pushing boundaries with harmony, tone colour and instrumentation. Both quartets are passionate and melodic works representing Debussy in early career and Fauré towards the end of his life.
