Fresh from her new CD recording, Polish pianist Anna Szałucka surveys music from her homeland as it reaches 100 years since independence. Starting with the music of Chopin she investigates the works of the famous pianist, and Prime Minister of Poland, Paderewski and the early 20th century unique compositional voice of Szymanowski. Alongside these well-known names she introduces two 20th century works, the beautiful and delicate work of UK-based Roxanna Panufnik and the second piano sonata of Grazyna Bacewicz who described her own music as lyrical and aggressive.

Anna Szałucka is renowned for her lyrical and poetic playing and her technical virtuosity. Prize winner in numerous competitions she has performed and broadcast all over the world.
